1 of 2 remixes finished, for Asia Music artist “Knights Templar”. May be melodic progressive Techno (I just made that up). One of those originals that is so good that you have a hard time to create a good remix. In this case I tend to go very different from the original to create something that is “new”, but keeping the original harmonies and keys to keep it still recognizable.
My ears gave me a really hard time (tinnitus), especially when it came to mastering. Mixdown is okay.
Watch out on ASIA MUSIC!
Next up: remix for FutureForm Music! And finishing album work for rock band Singvøgel, all with 50% ear-ability.
My most important mastering tip ever:
If it sounds good on shit speakers, it sounds good everywhere.
My most important composing tip ever:
If it sounds good on a piano, it sounds good on every instrument.
2 remixes in the pipeline, great (!) originals! Please, ears … do work! #tinnitus
I know it’s kind of a cliché that a DJ says something like this, but I have to do it:
Thanks everyone, both my partners in crime — TIME in Manila resident DJ’s — and you, the people, for a fantastic night. Everyone was amazing, couldn’t have been any better (until next time, hehe). \u003C3
